Robert Barraclough (Principal) has been providing forensic accounting services to solicitors for over fifteen years. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He is a member of the Academy of Experts and was on its council from 1993-1999.
He qualified with Robson Rhodes and when he left, in 1990, he was senior audit partner where he had considerable experience acting as lead audit partner for a number of UK private and public companies, including subsidiary companies of those owned by overseas holding companies. In 1990, he established the Litigation Support department for Haines Watts, which unit transferred to Kidsons Impey in 1997. In 1999 he decided to set up his own 'boutique' forensic accountancy practice, and in April 2002 formed an association with Bartfields (UK) Limited, Chartered Accountants.
Robert spends the majority of his time providing advice and reports for both claimants, defendents, and as Single Joint Expert for solicitors, barristers, insurance companies and regulatory bodies to quantify and validate the value of claims.
As a former member of council of the Academy of Experts Robert is fully aware of the legal demands made upon an Expert and is familiar with the new Civil Procedure Rules. He is accredited by the Law Society as a Single Joint Expert, and is very experienced in giving evidence from the Witness Box.
Robert is also a financially qualified member of the Appeals Service and a part-time Assessor who assists the Special Commisioners in determining appeals in respect of the exercise by the Director of ARA (Asset Recovery Agency) of his Revenus Functions.
